you might not have been able to see this entire time and, it lives right here yes right there is the front-facing camera for the main display

so it is now living underneath the display and it is going to be mostly transparent and,

I say mostly because one out of every four pixels in this area is still visible so, you can still see it at times and especially

if the screen is off but the big thing about this is that your peripheral vision is right and

when you are watching a movie or playing a game you're not necessarily looking for that camera and,

so out the side of your eye, you're not really going to see that cut-off for the camera.

it's kind of hard to find it unless you know exactly where you're looking for it but,

the one drawback for this is that the quality of the camera itself has taken a step back so your photos and,

your videos aren't going to look as good as they did on the z-fold too and, especially compared to the galaxy s21 lineup of phones.

Samsung had to make a decision here they knew the quality was going to be worse but was it worth it putting this newer technology in the phone, to help the general experience,

and in my opinion, that was the best choice to make, I didn't initially feel that way but after using the phone

I do appreciate not having that cut out as I did with the previous fold phones but the main reason,

I’m okay with the quality of this camera, is that you have two other ways to take selfies on this phone if,

you just really want to so you can use the front-facing camera that's on the cover display

then also to you can unfold the phone and you can activate a cover preview which will allow you, to see the viewfinder from the rear-facing camera on the outside cover display,

and then now you can take a selfie that way.

Because we have these options, I really only see myself using this front-facing camera on the main display, for like video conference calls or like doing video chats with friends and family,

and to be honest when I am doing those things I don't really care what the quality of the camera, the other person is using.

But I’m not mad at that because that's how it is with most phones but, again if you do manage things you turn the brightness down a little bit and,

you can't get all-day battery life especially if you know you're going to be out all day long and,

I didn't tell you already that the zfo3 is thinner and lighter than the z-fold 2.

when I first picked up the z-fold 3 I noticed that weight difference so I appreciate them shaving off 11 grams off of the weight,

which might not sound like a lot but it does make a difference

when you are using a phone of this size and, one of the contributing factors to the weight loss of this phone is going to be dealing with.

Samsung’s new armor aluminum is going to make the hinge stronger and,

lighter and should allow it to be able to withstand those 200 000 plus folds that this phone is going to be rated for

but also to this hinge allows you to fold the phone and hold it in a particular place like this.

So you can use some software features what they call flex mode and so, flexible allows you to be watching a YouTube video and,

and then you can fold it in half and then now you can have the main video playing, on the top portion of the screen and

you can have the chat here at the bottom and I really like using this for watching the YouTube live streams like my man viper here so,

I could be watching on the live stream and,

So then I have the live chat at the bottom to be able to keep up with both at the same time, now every app doesn't have flex mode built into its software.

But Samsung gives you the option now with the ZFO 3 to go into the advanced settings and,

then you can enable the ability to force an app to work in this particular model

so I force ample music here to work in it and what you'll see is when I do fold it in half like so you can see here,

I do have some playback controls here at the bottom and, also I can control the brightness of the screen if I wanted to.

Also, I can take a screenshot and I can pull down the notification shade from the same area so this basically just makes this a lot better to use this phone, while you have it sitting on a desk but,

by far my favorite software feature this year deals with multi-tasking especially with the edge panel

so the edge panel is this little thing on the side here that you can swipe over and, now you can have access to some of your favorite apps

and then also to you can swipe over to get your weather and,

also, you can have certain actions that you can do with this phone like taking screenshots taking video and,

stuff right at a swipe away but the best part now is that you can choose to pin this edge panel to the side of the screen so, basically shows up like the dock in Mac OS right.
